Sarah loved her Jaguar XK8. It was a head-turner on the road, a classic British grand tourer with a timeless elegance. But time, like the best road trips, leaves its mark. The oatmeal-coloured interior (trim code AGD) started showing signs of wear and tear on the driver’s bottom seat, and reducing the car’s original charm.
Replacing the seat covers seemed like the perfect solution, but Sarah soon discovered the “oatmeal problem”. Jaguars with the same AGD code can have slightly different colour shades. Generic replacements are a big risk, potentially creating an eyesore instead of a refresh.

Q: Sarah, what made you decide to change the upholstery on your Jaguar XK8?

A: Well, the oatmeal colour on my seats just wasn’t what it used to be. It had faded unevenly and the whole interior looked patchy and neglected, especially on the bottom driver’s seat. 

Q: You mentioned that the oatmeal colour was a challenge. Can you elaborate on that?

A: Absolutely!  I did some research online and discovered that “oatmeal” for Jaguars can actually have several different shades.  Trying to find generic replacements was a gamble – I could easily end up with mismatched colours, which would have looked even worse!

Q: So how did you find a solution that guaranteed a perfect colour match?
